walled in a tiny cell, dressed
only in a kirtle and hood,
I am sane though difficult
to discipline, eremitic,
feeding on solitude,
singing Wiccan songs
with others dedicated
to a female savior.
Some of us are martyred,
go crazy, sleep away desire,
throw ourselves from high rocks.
All will be well, all will be well
in a world with room enough
for androgynous God.
